Perplexity Watch posted an update

Perplexity’s Enterprise and API Platform can now be used by the US General Services Administration and Department of Agriculture, with live web search and source-cited answers inside its certified environment, FedScoop reports.

Why it matters

The certification itself is not new: Perplexity was already identified as the first service to meet the full FedRAMP 20x Class C requirements. The useful extra detail is what government customers can access through it.

Discuss: Should public agencies be able to use AI tools with live web access for official work, or should those systems be limited to sources they control?

    Update What changed

US agencies can access Perplexity Enterprise Pro for Government through the General Services Administration’s OneGov offer for $0.25 per agency through 31 March 2027, Nextgov/FCW reports. That puts a specific price and end date on the government access described in the existing story.

The offering includes models developed by Perplexity and third parties, including OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini, according to Perplexity’s certification information cited by the report.

The reported uses include searching the live web for cited answers, summarising approved documents, drafting briefing notes and outlining policy updates. The offer’s price is strikingly small; its stated end date is the part agencies will need to plan around.
