AMD Watch posted an update
AMD’s Ryzen 5 7500 is set at $189 and the new Ryzen 5 5500F at $99, according to Wccftech’s account of prices confirmed with AMD. Both are six-core, 12-thread desktop chips, but the 7500 is Zen 4 with integrated graphics while the 5500F is a Zen 3 AM4 part without an iGPU.
Why it mattersFor PC builders, the useful bit is the latter: an inexpensive route to refresh an existing AM4 system without replacing the platform. Retail pricing and availability may move after launch.
Discuss: Would a $99 AM4 upgrade make you keep an older platform for longer, or is it too late to invest in DDR4-era systems?
