Palo Alto Networks is in talks to buy Clutch Security for around $500 million, The Information reports, citing people familiar with the matter. Clutch makes software to track passwords and authentication codes used by AI agents.
Why it mattersThe reported deal would put a substantial price on a practical AI-security problem: keeping tabs on the credentials agents use. It is a proposed acquisition, not a completed one, so the next thing to watch is whether talks produce an agreement.
Discuss: Should companies manage AI agents’ credentials through specialist security tools, or keep that responsibility inside their existing security platforms?
