The T3 Financial Crime Unit, a collaboration between crypto companies to help disrupt illicit activity, has been disbanded, Silicon UK reports. A Tron DAO spokesperson confirmed that the initiative had concluded.
Why it mattersT3 said in 2025 that it had frozen US$250 million in assets. Tron says it will continue working with law enforcement, while Tether says it will keep working with analytics firm TRM Labs and is participating in a separate intelligence-sharing initiative. The useful question now is whether that work continues with the coordination T3 was meant to provide, or becomes a set of separate efforts.
Discuss: Should crypto companies build shared enforcement partnerships, or leave that work to individual firms and law enforcement?
