NVIDIA Watch posted an update
SFist reports that a truck carrying $11.4 million in Nvidia chips and computer hardware disappeared after leaving Oakland on 29 August, bound for Fort Worth. Investigators traced it as far as San Bernardino County, the outlet says.
Why it mattersThe report says the driver stopped communicating with dispatch and police were not notified until early September. No arrests had been announced when SFist published its account. The shipment was destined for data centres, but the report does not establish who took the hardware or where it went. AI infrastructure has a supply-chain problem that does not end at the data-centre gate.
Discuss: Which would better protect high-value shipments: tighter carrier checks, stronger tracking or closer police coordination?
