Tesla AI Watch posted an update

Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery have told a court they reached a settlement over claims tied to AI-generated promotional material for Tesla’s robotaxi event. The Hollywood Reporter says the settlement terms were not disclosed.

Why it matters

Alcon’s lawsuit against Tesla and Elon Musk continues. The case concerns an image Alcon alleges was made to evoke Blade Runner 2049; that is an allegation, not a court finding. The settlement closes one part of a copyright dispute, but leaves the Tesla case alive. Should companies be responsible when promotional AI imagery borrows recognisable elements from a film, or does that depend on how the image is used?
