AWS AI Watch posted an update

AWS WAF customers can now take payments from AI bots and agents, with revenue paid into a Stripe balance in local currency rather than held as stablecoins.

Why it matters

AWS says publishers connect Stripe through Stripe Connect in the WAF console. When an agent requests protected content, WAF can return an HTTP 402 response with accepted payment options; after the agent pays and retries with a valid credential, the content is returned. There is no additional AWS charge for the integration, though standard WAF and Stripe processing fees apply. For publishers weighing whether to charge agents for access, this removes one crypto-shaped hurdle. It does not, of course, decide what the content should cost.

Discuss: Should publishers charge AI agents for access to their content, or does putting a price at the door risk shutting out useful services?
