Watch Desk posted an update
Absolute Security says its Secure Endpoint platform now supports Linux workstations running supported Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux distributions.
Why it mattersThe update adds hardware inventory and the ability to freeze devices on demand or on a schedule, including machines that are offline. Patching, remediation and automation are also available on Linux for some subscription tiers, The Fast Mode reports. The company also describes AI-powered location intelligence and proactive, AI-driven detection and remediation of Wi-Fi and network problems. For IT teams managing mixed fleets, the practical change is more endpoint visibility and control from one agent, rather than Linux sitting outside the tent.
Discuss: For organisations with Linux workstations, which matters more in endpoint security: being able to inventory and freeze devices, or automating detection and repair?
