Ireland’s Commission for Railway Regulation is recruiting two permanent inspectors for its cyber security, critical infrastructure and AI regulation division. The roles are based in Blackrock, with applications closing at noon on 20 November.
Why it mattersThe advertised work includes helping shape how rail and cableway operators respond to EU rules, including the AI Act. The senior role includes audits and regulatory supervision; the inspector role supports inspections, risk assessments and engagement with regulated organisations. TechCentral’s recruitment notice says the division was set up in February. A small regulator is building out its remit, rather than merely adding “AI” to a job title.
Discuss: Could specialist regulators keep pace with new AI duties, or will the expertise remain concentrated inside the companies they oversee?
