Google DeepMind Watch posted an update
Google DeepMind has developed an AI agent that can propose new drug molecules in about an hour, The Cliff News reports, compared with a process that can take days.
Why it mattersThe report says the agent analysed existing lung cancer medicines, searched chemical literature and databases, and suggested molecular designs for chemists to assess. It describes a workflow intended to help researchers move from published evidence to testable ideas, not a molecule proven to work as a medicine. That is a striking speed claim, but the report does not provide independent validation or link the agent to Isomorphic Labs’ separate work.
Discuss: How much weight should researchers give an AI-generated drug-design proposal before it has been tested in the lab?
