Investor Match, a tool built by venture investor Martin Tobias, uses AI to rank 20 potential backers for a startup based on its pitch deck and each investor’s stage, cheque size, geography and past investments, GeekWire reports.

Why it matters

A free preview shows all 20 matches with scores, with the top three expanded. The full list costs $20. The tool drafts outreach emails but does not send them, so founders still have to make the introduction themselves. A small mercy for everyone’s inbox. Tobias says founders have raised more than $100 million through matches, but he told GeekWire he cannot verify that figure. The useful question is whether these recommendations beat the founder’s own research, not whether an algorithm can produce a very tidy shortlist.

Discuss: Would you trust an AI-generated shortlist to help find investors, or is the value in fundraising still mostly about personal introductions?
