AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS Elemental MediaLive has added Video Aligned Locking, which uses visual signatures to identify and align matching frames across video pipelines without requiring timecode from the source.
Why it mattersThe feature supports frame-accurate switching across standard and linked cross-region channels, with outputs including HLS, MediaPackage, CMAF Ingest, UDP and SRT. For streaming teams, that could remove a sizeable chunk of specialist hardware and synchronisation wrangling from multi-stream workflows.
Discuss: Would visual frame matching be reliable enough for your live-streaming workflow, or would you still want source timecode as a safety net?
