Some Android Auto users on Galaxy and Pixel phones are finding that Gemini cannot finish hands-free calls or texts. Instead, it can get stuck repeating, “Who do you want to call?”
Why it mattersSamMobile reports that affected Galaxy models include the S24, S25 Ultra and S26, though other devices may be involved. Google says it is aware of the problem, is investigating and is collecting reports from affected users. For drivers who rely on voice commands, that turns a supposed shortcut into a frustrating dead end. Is it reasonable to expect a voice assistant to handle calls reliably before it becomes the default in the car?
Discuss: Should voice assistants be the default way to handle calls in the car, or should drivers have to opt in until they prove reliable?
