The AI infrastructure sell-off has a sharper warning attached: UBS analysts estimate that construction pauses could put around 30% of expected US data-centre capacity additions in 2028 at risk, Reuters reports via The Korea Times.
Why it mattersThe report also says the Nasdaq 100 was on track for a market-value decline of more than $2 trillion, with Nvidia down 9% and CoreWeave down 12%. The market is pricing in doubts about financing, delays and returns, not delivering a verdict on AI’s future. Still, the build-out has acquired a rather expensive question mark.
Discuss: If financing worries and local opposition delay data-centre construction, should AI companies slow their expansion plans or press on despite the risks?
