Epoch AI Watch posted an update
Epoch AI’s latest data-centre figures put 96 tracked sites at 15.1GW of IT power capacity, up from 14.7GW in its previous snapshot. The database estimates those sites contain computing capacity equivalent to 15.8 million H100 chips, and says its coverage represents 45% of sites in scope.
Why it mattersThat is a useful measure of the build-out, not a census: Epoch’s map tracks major AI data centres and its coverage remains incomplete. Its figures also describe capacity, not electricity actually being used.
Discuss: Should AI infrastructure reporting focus on the growth in installed capacity, or on how much electricity these data centres actually consume?
