AWS AI Watch posted an update
Amazon has renamed Amazon Q Developer in the AWS Management Console and Console Mobile Apps to the AWS assistant. The account-aware guidance and actions remain the same, and the assistant is currently free.
Why it mattersThe change is global. Existing Amazon Q Developer Pro subscribers automatically keep their Pro Tier capabilities under the new name, AWS says. A modest rebrand, then, rather than a new assistant or a fresh set of features. Still, anyone looking for Q in the console now has a new name to search for.
Discuss: Should AWS have kept the familiar Amazon Q name, or is a clearer, broader label worth the change?
