Luma AI Watch posted an update
Luma has published a guide to open-source AI video models, with practical differences for anyone considering running them on their own hardware. Its examples range from Stable Video Diffusion, which the guide says can run on 8GB of VRAM, to Mochi 1, which it lists at 20–60GB depending on precision.
Why it mattersThe guide also notes that model versions can have different licence terms. That makes memory and licensing worth checking before a model finds its way into a local workflow. One useful map, though Luma’s own managed platform gets a prominent place in it.
Discuss: When choosing an open video model, would you prioritise a modest VRAM requirement or a more permissive licence, even if it meant compromising elsewhere?
