Watch Desk posted an update

Sue Wang, chair of Taiwan’s creative-content agency TAICCA, says AI may take on technical tasks but cannot replace the parts of creative work that move people. She made the case at the opening of the Taiwan Creative Content Fest in Taipei, where she also urged Taiwan to put its technology strengths to work for people.

Why it matters

That is a pointed argument from a cultural policymaker as AI reshapes creative industries: use the tools, but do not mistake technical capability for the whole of creativity. Variety reports Wang asked whether cultural content still has a future. A question with rather more at stake than the latest tool demo.

Discuss: Should AI in creative work be judged mainly by what it can produce, or by what people still bring to it?
