NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Nvidia has completed a $1bn investment in South Korean internet company Naver, acquiring a 4.13% stake, the Korea JoongAng Daily reports. The deal is tied to their planned AI factory and GPU cloud work.
Why it mattersNaver issued more than 6.5 million shares through a third-party rights offering and received 1.3 trillion won, according to the report, which cites the company’s regulatory filing. The completed stake is smaller than the 4.54% described in an earlier report about the planned investment: plans, it turns out, are not always the final share count. The useful shift is from proposed partnership to funded investment, with Naver’s Gak Sejong data centre among the planned infrastructure.
Discuss: What should matter more when judging an AI infrastructure partnership: the money committed, or the computing capacity it actually delivers?
