Samsung Medical Center will host a cancer symposium in Seoul on 21 November, with sessions on AI across diagnosis, treatment and patient care. One presentation will cover Orchestra, a humanoid surgical-assistance robot under development through South Korea’s ARPA-H programme.
Why it mattersThe programme also includes talks on AI-based precision diagnostics, personalised treatment and AI research into liver, biliary tract and pancreatic cancers. The robot is a development project, not a clinical tool already in use. It is a useful look at where clinicians and researchers are exploring AI and robotics in cancer care, rather than evidence that these technologies are ready to change treatment today.
Discuss: Which should hospitals demand first from medical AI: stronger evidence of better outcomes, or practical trials in real care settings?
