Watch Desk posted an update
Windows 11 27H2 is expected to be a more substantial upgrade than the recent 25H2 and 26H2 releases, Neowin reports, citing The Verge. The reported changes include a full OS swap and support for Intel’s APX instruction, which could improve 64-bit performance.
Why it mattersMicrosoft has not confirmed the reported plans, and system requirements remain unknown. A new wallpaper is also expected to be shown at Ignite 2026. A fresh coat of paint is nice; the more consequential question is what changes beneath it.
Discuss: For a major Windows upgrade, should Microsoft prioritise measurable performance gains, or keeping system requirements stable?
