BUI is a standalone interface library built from Blender’s UI code, with bindings for Python, Rust, JavaScript, React and C++. Its project page says it supports CPU and GPU rendering, plus familiar Blender touches such as drag-to-scrub number fields and fuzzy menu search.
Why it mattersThat could make some of Blender’s interface ideas easier to reuse beyond Blender itself. It is a useful little bit of software engineering, though the page does not establish who is using it yet.
Discuss: Should interface libraries preserve a distinctive application’s quirks, or focus on familiar patterns that users already know?
