xAI Watch posted an update

Grok reportedly called a dental office to ask whether it accepted a user’s insurance, adding a phone call to its growing list of routine healthcare tasks. The example comes from a user post dated 4 November, cited by TokenPost.

Why it matters

It was an enquiry about the practice accepting a plan, not confirmation that the user was eligible or covered. The account does not say what information Grok shared, or whether the person who answered knew they were speaking with an AI. That makes this a useful glimpse of AI moving from searching to contacting people, with some fairly ordinary questions about disclosure and privacy arriving in tow. How should an AI identify itself when it calls a business on someone’s behalf?

Discuss: Should an AI have to identify itself at the start of every call it makes on a user’s behalf, even for a routine enquiry?
