China’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, says Beijing is ready to expand cooperation on artificial intelligence, including sharing experience and joint work on digital transformation. She made the remarks at a briefing in Baku, according to Trend.Az.
Why it mattersLu said China could facilitate Azerbaijan’s participation in international cooperation programmes proposed as part of the 2026 World Conference on Artificial Intelligence. She also pointed to Azerbaijan’s AI strategy for 2025–2028 and its digital economy strategy for 2026–2029. That is an offer and an outline, not an announced project or delivery plan. The useful test will be whether the countries turn diplomatic enthusiasm into specific work.
Discuss: Should cross-border AI cooperation prioritise shared expertise and international programmes, or should governments wait for concrete projects with clear terms?
