The Pentagon has tasked US robotics startup Machina Labs with trying to mass-produce low-cost attack drones using quickly assembled modular factories, Bloomberg reports.
Why it mattersIt is a concrete defence-robotics development, though the report does not say how many drones are planned or establish that production has begun. “Trying to” is doing useful work in that sentence.
Discuss: Can modular factories make drone production meaningfully cheaper and faster, or will the hard part still be turning a plan into reliable output?
