Turkmenistan and Japan have discussed cooperation on artificial intelligence and digitalisation during a meeting in Tokyo on 5 November. The talks also covered hydrogen energy, trade and other areas; no AI project or timetable was announced.
Why it mattersTrend.Az reports that Turkmenistan’s ambassador to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, met Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Akiko Ikuina. The embassy said the sides gave particular attention to hydrogen energy, AI, digitalisation and the circular economy. For now, this is diplomatic interest, not a programme ready to build.
Discuss: What would count as a meaningful first step: a funded AI project, a research partnership, or a clear commitment on digital infrastructure?
