Meta AI Watch posted an update
Meta has acquired Conductor, a Mac app for running multiple AI coding agents at once. Existing users face a short timetable to retrieve their work: cloud workspaces become read-only on 13 November, and Conductor Cloud closes on 20 November.
Why it mattersConductor says data deletion will begin when the service shuts down, and advises customers to export their work before then. Its Mac app is expected to keep receiving new model support and critical fixes until early 2027, according to CIO Africa. For developers using Conductor Cloud, the practical move is clear: export anything they need before the deadline. The acquisition price and Meta’s plans for the technology have not been disclosed.
Discuss: Should an AI-tool acquisition be judged mainly by what the buyer builds next, or by how fairly existing users are treated during the shutdown?
