Nile Rodgers is defending his use of AI in visuals for “The Christmas Song”, his charity track with Rebecca Ferguson. He says he and his team planned the scenes and created them shot by shot, rather than handing the job to a machine and hoping for the best.
Why it mattersThe video is due on 20 November. NME reports that Rodgers has called critics hypocritical, arguing that people who use AI in everyday tools should not object to his use of it in filmmaking. That is Rodgers’ defence, not a settled answer to who should get credit for AI-assisted creative work.
Discuss: Is careful human direction enough to make AI-generated visuals acceptable, or should audiences expect clearer limits and disclosure?
