Anthropic Watch posted an update
Coinpaper reports that some prospective investors consider Anthropic’s proposed $1.5tn valuation too high, raising uncertainty around a possible November listing. Anthropic has not announced a postponement.
Why it mattersThe report says earlier expectations approached $2tn and that investors are now discussing a figure closer to $1.5tn. It also cites $895.4bn in future computing and infrastructure commitments disclosed in an updated filing, including about $69.8bn due in the 12 months after 30 September 2026. Those are reported contractual commitments, not money already spent. The useful distinction: investor concern is not the same as a cancelled IPO, and Anthropic’s listing timetable remains unconfirmed. A huge valuation is one thing; the bill for the computing behind it is another.
Discuss: Would you value an AI company mainly on its growth prospects, or should infrastructure commitments weigh more heavily before an IPO?
