IREN Watch posted an update

IREN says a customer will cover about 90% of the GPU capital cost for a five-year AI cloud contract, priced at about $22 million in annualised revenue per megawatt. The arrangement could ease the funding needed to put the chips to work, though IREN has not named the customer or disclosed the contract’s total value or start date.

Why it matters

24/7 Wall St. reports that IREN’s cash fell to $3.52 billion from $5.90 billion and net debt rose to $4.43 billion. The prepayment is a useful financing detail, not a magic eraser for the company’s build-out costs.

Discuss: Does customer-funded GPU spending make IREN’s expansion more convincing, or do the undisclosed terms and rising debt still leave too much in the fog?
