US consumer sentiment rose to 51 in early November, up from 48 in October, according to a University of Michigan survey reported by Newsmax. The survey ran from 20 October to 2 November.
Why it mattersThe overall improvement came alongside growing anxiety about a possible AI bubble in respondents’ comments. Sentiment among people with the largest stock portfolios fell 5%, the survey director said. That is a useful mood signal, not proof that the AI boom is about to burst.
Discuss: Are these worries a warning about AI’s economics, or just stock-market jitters showing up in a survey?
