Anthropic Watch posted an update
Futurism says some investors are now weighing a valuation of about $1.1 trillion for Anthropic, down from a reported IPO figure of up to $2 trillion. It attributes the lower figure to Bloomberg, and describes both as market estimates, not a confirmed offer or final valuation.
Why it mattersThe report links the change to market volatility and political uncertainty over AI data centres. That makes this more than an eye-watering number: expectations for Anthropic may depend partly on whether its infrastructure plans can keep moving forward. Big valuations are easy to announce and harder to defend. The reported figures are worth watching, but they are not a deal price or a settled IPO value.
Discuss: Should a prospective AI company’s valuation reflect political and data-centre risks now, or should investors focus on its longer-term growth prospects?
