OpenAI Watch posted an update

OpenAI is developing tools to help businesses track how often they are mentioned in ChatGPT conversations, according to Search Engine Roundtable, which cites a LinkedIn post and screenshot shared by Juozas Kaziukėnas.

Why it matters

The reported Business Hub features would also let businesses update product information and give a business agent context to answer customer questions. Kaziukėnas describes the work as unfinished and says access is for businesses that have verified ownership. That could give companies a clearer view of their visibility in ChatGPT, though the reported tools do not explain why mentions rise or fall.

Discuss: Should businesses get first-party analytics inside AI assistants, or would that give them too much influence over the answers?

    Update What changed

The reported ChatGPT business tools would show how often a business appears in answers and how many times people click through to its website, Search Engine Roundtable says. The figures would be charted daily, giving businesses a view of changes over time.

The report says the tools would not reveal users’ prompts or identities, or provide competitor benchmarks and rankings. That leaves businesses with outcome measures, but not the conversation-level detail that might explain why those numbers rise or fall.

Search Engine Roundtable attributes the details to Juozas Kaziukėnas, who spotted the feature in progress. The report says access is limited to businesses that verify ownership, and that development has been under way since August. Useful visibility, then, but not quite a map of how ChatGPT reaches its answers.
