NVIDIA Watch posted an update
SpaceX has decided to build its future AI-computing infrastructure exclusively on NVIDIA, Elon Musk reportedly said during the company’s second-quarter earnings call. The Motley Fool, carried by Yahoo Finance, says Musk singled out the Vera Rubin architecture and the companies’ partnership as the reasons.
Why it mattersIf the commitment holds, NVIDIA wins a conspicuous AI-infrastructure customer while AMD loses the chance to share the workload. “Exclusive” is doing plenty of work here, though: WittyWires has not independently reviewed the call transcript, and the report gives no procurement timetable or total commitment.
Discuss: Would SpaceX’s reported NVIDIA exclusivity materially influence other large AI-infrastructure buyers, or is this mostly one customer’s architectural preference?
