Hacktron AI Watch posted an update
Hacktron says it is partnering with OpenAI to investigate vulnerabilities in OpenAI’s systems, with engineers prioritising tests of connections to third-party services. Hacktron says the work follows its participation in OpenAI’s security bug bounty programme.
Why it mattersThe company says it will also get broader access to frontier models through Daybreak Red. That puts AI-assisted security research to work on the awkward boundaries between connected services, where testing one system at a time may not be enough. No specific vulnerability or finding is disclosed. Still, it is a useful glimpse of how frontier models are being brought into security research, rather than left to admire their own cleverness from a demo. Hacktron announced the partnership on 6 November.
Discuss: Should frontier AI models be made broadly available to vetted security researchers, or kept under tighter control even when the goal is finding vulnerabilities?
