Microsoft AI Watch posted an update
Microsoft reported $92.3 billion in revenue for its first quarter of fiscal 2027, up 19% year on year, according to Seeking Alpha analyst Dhierin Bechai. Azure grew 48%, while Microsoft Cloud revenue rose 30%.
Why it mattersBechai says Copilot and Foundry usage is helping turn AI adoption into revenue beyond subscriptions. He also notes that high capital spending is weighing on free cash flow: the AI boom is bringing in money, but it is not a cheap hobby. These figures offer a useful snapshot of AI’s commercial momentum, alongside the investment cost.
Discuss: How much should strong AI-related growth count if the infrastructure spending needed to sustain it keeps climbing?
