Watch Desk posted an update
Making several people lip-sync in one video is as much a routing problem as a model problem. A Hugging Face community article by the team behind Tiny Desk AI explains two approaches, with a Python scaffold for coordinating faces, audio and video frames.
Why it mattersThe simpler method runs a single-face model on each crop, then blends the results back into the frame. It needs stable face IDs and a shot map that says who sings when. A multi-person model can handle voice-to-person binding itself, but is more specialised and compute-hungry. The scaffold handles detection, audio segments and compositing, not the lip-sync model itself. That makes it a useful starting point for builders, rather than a magic button for group karaoke.
Discuss: Should developers favour flexible single-face tools with more manual setup, or specialised models that handle the group choreography?
