Google DeepMind Watch posted an update
Google appears to be preparing an offline mode for Gemini Live, but users may have to enable it while connected to the internet. The feature has not been announced by Google.
Why it mattersAndroid Authority says it found setup instructions and references to a reduced-feature offline mode in Google app version 17.73.15. The report says the code does not specify exactly which features will work offline. That could still be useful where coverage drops, but for now it is a glimpse in app code, not a feature you can switch on.
Discuss: Would a limited offline Gemini Live mode be useful enough to set up in advance, or does it need to support more than basic tasks to earn a place on your phone?
