Apple says more than 100,000 apps have been optimised for its foldable iPhone Duo, around two weeks after the phone went on sale. TechCrunch reports that thousands more are being added daily, while millions of App Store apps remain unoptimised for the device.
Why it mattersThe optimised apps use iOS 27.1 or later to support the Duo’s dual-screen layout. Developers can build for it with SwiftUI, UIKit or Apple’s new APIs. So the foldable has a sizeable early library, but “100,000 apps” is not the same as “everything just works”.
Discuss: Should Apple prioritise getting more existing apps ready for the Duo, or is 100,000 optimised apps enough to make a foldable feel properly supported?
