AWS has added its AI-powered Smart Subtitles to Elemental MediaConvert, so video teams can generate captions as part of their existing video-on-demand transcoding and packaging workflows. The practical gain is one less separate captioning pipeline to manage.
Why it mattersThe feature supports English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Customers can also create custom dictionaries to help with names, brands and technical terms, and package subtitles as sidecar files or burn them into video. AWS says the integration is available in the regions where Elemental Inference is offered, including Ireland, Virginia, Oregon, Mumbai and Sydney.
