AMD Watch posted an update
Minisforum has introduced the N5 Max-P495, a NAS built around AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495. Notebookcheck reports support for up to 192GB of RAM, with 160GB available as VRAM for the integrated Radeon 8065S, plus up to 200TB of local storage.
Why it mattersThat makes it an intriguing platform for local AI workloads as well as file serving, although the full specification, price and launch availability are still under wraps. The older N5 Max starts at $3,699 with 128GB of memory, so “affordable NAS” is unlikely to be the headline here.
Discuss: Would this kind of high-memory NAS make local AI practical for you, or is the likely price still the bigger bottleneck?
