Taiwan’s creative agency TAICCA and visual-effects company Weta FX have signed an agreement to explore AI research and development, alongside collaboration with Taiwanese studio Moonshine Studio and an international talent exchange.
Why it mattersThe agreement was signed at the opening of Taiwan Creative Content Fest, according to Taiwan News. It sets out areas for cooperation, not a specific AI production tool or a commitment to deploy one. For Taiwanese creatives, the practical promise is access to international expertise and training as AI enters production workflows. The interesting question is whether this partnership produces shared skills and useful work, rather than another memorandum left to gather dust.
Discuss: Should AI partnerships in film production prioritise training local talent, or developing tools that make productions faster and cheaper?
