Meta AI Watch posted an update
Meta has indefinitely paused planned changes to several commercial terms that would have allowed web scrapers to collect material from websites associated with its business accounts, Yahoo Tech reports. The changes will not take effect on 20 November, and Meta says its existing terms remain in force.
Why it mattersThe terms covered, among others, Meta’s Ad Creative Generative AI Terms. The pause leaves publishers and other business-account operators without the planned change for now, while Meta continues consulting stakeholders. Meta has not given a date for a further update.
Discuss: Should companies set firm deadlines for policy consultations, or is an open-ended pause a reasonable way to avoid imposing disputed terms?
