The Mumbai Cricket Association is piloting AI-assisted coaching at its indoor academy, with plans for four cameras on each practice pitch to capture batting and bowling technique. Coaches could search for a player and review relevant footage and performance data, myKhel reports, citing remarks to The Indian Express by MCA president Ajinkya Naik.
Why it mattersThe pilot is experimental: the MCA says it will gather feedback from coaches and players before deciding what comes next. For now, this is a test of whether AI analysis can make individual coaching easier to deliver, not proof that it improves performance.
Discuss: Should AI video analysis be a standard aid for coaching young cricketers, or could it encourage coaches to trust measurable technique over their own judgement?
