LM Studio Watch posted an update
An LM Studio user says literal closing think markers inside a local model’s reasoning can make the agent stop without an error or tool call. The report concerns Bionic 1.2.0 on Windows 10, using a local llama.cpp backend with a Qwen model.
Why it mattersAccording to the user’s issue on LM Studio’s community tracker, the parser can mistake a marker quoted in the model’s reasoning for the end of that section. The remaining output then spills into the content, and an affected turn may be marked complete mid-task. The reported workaround is typing “continue”. This is one user’s unconfirmed report, not an established LM Studio-wide defect. Still, silent completion is a particularly unhelpful way for an agent to say it has lost the plot.
Discuss: Should local AI tools prioritise clearer failure reporting, or is reliable parsing the only acceptable fix?
