NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Micron expects memory prices to keep rising, though more moderately, while Nvidia says higher memory costs are already weighing on its margins. The contrast puts a useful number on a less glamorous part of the AI build-out: the cost of supplying the hardware.
Why it mattersNvidia forecasts revenue of $108 billion for its fiscal third quarter, but expects gross margin to fall to 71% to 72% in the fourth quarter. Micron, meanwhile, forecast fiscal first-quarter revenue of $60 billion to $63 billion, up from $54.2 billion in the previous quarter. Those are company forecasts cited by Yahoo Finance, not guaranteed results.
Discuss: Is passing higher memory costs on to customers sustainable, or will it make AI infrastructure more expensive for everyone?
