AMD Gaia v0.26.0-rc9 fixes a missing web interface in its frozen builds. Since RC6, the release notes say, gaia chat –ui served only a placeholder instead of the Agent UI, leaving browser and phone users without the app.
Why it mattersThe fix builds the UI before freezing Gaia, bundles it, and refuses to build if the files are missing. A smoke test now checks that the root page serves the app rather than the placeholder. The notes also say desktop installer journeys pass their setup phase. For people testing Gaia, that is the difference between an installer that starts and one that gets as far as a usable interface. Release candidates are for finding exactly this sort of snag, though it is a fairly large one to leave lying around.
Discuss: Should an installer release candidate be considered usable if its setup completes but the app interface is missing?
