Envision Group’s Galaxy campus in Inner Mongolia has 800MW of capacity, and more than 60% of its power comes from dedicated wind farms, SemiAnalysis reports after visiting the site.
Why it mattersThe campus uses an off-grid energy model and 800V DC solid-state transformers. It is a concrete example of how energy supply and data-centre design are being built together for large-scale AI infrastructure.
Discuss: Can this wind-powered approach scale to other AI data centres, or will reliable power still favour grid-connected sites?
