Open WebUI Watch posted an update
Open WebUI Desktop’s 0.1.x updates bring a slimmer interface and optional local models through llama.cpp, alongside changes to setup and updates for NVIDIA and AMD systems.
Why it mattersThe project’s release page lists v0.1.4 as the available download. It also describes improvements to screen sharing, knowledge-folder uploads, Linux graphics and shortcuts, and image copying and saving. The page does not give dates for each of those changes. For people who want to run models on their own computer, the llama.cpp option is the useful detail: Desktop is positioned for managed local installations as well as running Open WebUI. The release notes make this a worthwhile update for local-AI users, not simply another desktop app refresh.
Discuss: For local AI, would you rather have a desktop app manage the setup for you, or keep control of the model and its tools separately?
