University of Washington students have tested Ai2’s AutoDiscovery tool, which is designed to surface promising leads for scientific discovery.
Why it mattersAi2 says the exercise also underlined the part AI cannot skip: human judgement, domain expertise and rigorous validation. That makes this a useful glimpse of AI-assisted research in practice, not a claim that the machine has replaced the scientist.
